As per new leak Google Pixel 6 will have Google's Whitechapel custom chipset
Google Pixel 6 is expected to launch sometime later this year. Now as per new leaks by XDA Developers it is reported that the device will come with Google made chipset code named Whitechapel. In a screenshot, the 'Whitechapel' text mentioned by the Google engineers in a code change submitted to AOSP can be seen in the URL.
Highlights-
1)Pixel 6 is said to ship with inhouse Whitechapel chipset.
2) Google is said to made the chipet in collaboration with Samsung's system large scale integration(SLSI).
3)The performance of the chipset could be similar as that of Snapdragon 7 series chipset.
In the URL Whitechapel refers to Google's chipset while the GS101 could mean Google Silicon. Google is said to be working on the Whitechapel chip in collaboration with Samsung's system large scale integration(SLSI) division. As SLSI makes Exynos chipset Google inhouse made chipset could have some Specifications similar to Exynos.
Speculations suggests that Whitechapel could be a 5nm chipset with ARM Mali GPU. The performance could be same as that of Snapdragon 7 series processor's.
It can be said that if Google uses it own chipset it could provide longer software updates for its pixel phones. As Google will not have to rely on Qualcomm for updates. Google could now Provide four OS upgrades instead of 3 but this are all leaks.
