New Whatsapp scam has emerged know what is it

 Whatsapp scam's aren't new. We have seen many such scams over the years. Back in November a WhatsApp OTP scam was detected that allowed hackers to access users account and block users out of it. The scam is hard to detect as it appears to come from someone familiar from user's contact list. Now let us know what is this scam all about.


In February there were reports of a fake whatsapp version to truck iPhone users and hack their data. The fake version was found to be linked to Italian Surveillance firm "cy4 gate" and this was discovered by cybersecurity of University of Toronto.

About the Scam- In this new Whatsapp scam, users usually get a text message which contains an OTP on their smartphone  by a WhatsApp number in the friend list of that user who ask the user to share the code with them. Once the user shares the code the hackers can easily hack user's account and they get logged out of their WhatsApp Account.

How to stay safe from this Scam- This is not the first time these things are happening many such scams have happened previously in many websites. 

If you want to stay safe contact your friends/family members if they are asking you for the code or not. Best thing is do not share your WhatsApp Verification code with anyone.
