LG will give Android 12 updates to some devices

 LG recently announced it's decision to withdraw from the Smartphone business after making loss for almost 6 years.

Highlights- 

1)LG has announced that is closing it's Smartphone business.

2)LG will update it's eligible device's to Android 11 and 12.

3)LG has not provided list of eligible device's which will get Android OS updates.

4)As per Counterpoint LG shipped 23 million smartphone's last year.

Inspite of this LG will give Android 11 updates for eligible device's and is also working to introduce Android 12 to some of it's smartphone's. As per FAQ page on LG's South Korean website it suggests that LG will roll out Android 11 updates for eligible device's and is also planning to roll out Android 12 update for some handsets. But LG says Android 12 rollout plans will vary for different markets. 

LG decides to close it's Smartphone business after incurring loss of almost $4.5 billion(approx Rs 33000 crore). The company now looks to focus on areas like electric vehicle components, smart home device's, electronic gadgets, robotics and artificial intelligence.

These updates plans may vary according to Google's distribution Schedule and performance of the selected device's while testing the Android 12 software. If problem arises during testing of Android 12 then update plans may get delay.
